Praktisix – repair manual

Here in the Czech version of this websites you can download (my) Czech translations of Praktisix Camera Repair Manual published in 1962, Praktisix II published in 1964 and Praktisix IIA published in 1966. Manuals for Praktisix II and Praktisix IIA are only supplements to Repair Manual of basic Praktisix, and they only describe what is changed in cameras in question and without Repair Manual for basic Praktisix they don't make much sense.

For all three manuals, there is always a section at the end called "Comments by author of the translation" where I describe various additions and my findings and practices. The most extensive one is in manual for basic Praktisix, there it is already more than 20 pages long, and there is, for example, my explanation of cmp unit that is used to define/measure curtains tension, there is also a description of method of measuring tension of curtains that I tried. There is also for example a description (that is what I know) of operation of timing mechanism (in German Hemmwerk) with photos where parts described are marked, and other descriptions, for example a description and photographic documentation of area visible in viewfinders in relation with what will be on film.

Since I don't provide English or German versions of repair manuals on English sites (they can be obtained on Internet), I decided to publish here at least an English translation of my "Comments by author of the translation" that are contained in Czech translation of repair manual for basic Praktisix. Although this text is contained in Praktisix manual, most of these findings are well applicable to later Pentacon six / TL, including prism viewfinders for them.

These "Comments by author of the translation" are available in English for download as pdf file here:  Repair manual PRAKTISIX - L.Ruffer's knowledge.pdf
